5 Tips to Kick-Off the New Year

goal setting mindset Jan 12, 2020

Here are my 5 quick tips/reminders to kick-off 2020!

1. REALISTIC GOALS
Set REALISTIC goals. But don't be afraid to set goals that stretch you! When you step out of your comfort zone amazing things can happen!

2. LEAVE IT IN THE PAST AND MOVE FORWARD
Don't be hard on yourself for what did or did not happen last year. Know that you were right where you needed to be in 2019. Learn from it. Grow from it. This is a new year, a fresh start - focus on the future and making this year great! (Notice I say "making" rather than "having a great year" because it is up to YOU to make these goals happen!)

3.  THREE MONTH YEAR
Try something new and break the year into quarters. Pretend your year is three months long, rather than twelve. Just imagine all that you can accomplish if you focus on accomplishing these big goals in one quarter rather than a full year. I promise you will get way more accomplished this way!
I highly recommend reading the book "The 12 Week Year: Get More Done in 12 Weeks than Others do in 12 Months" by Brian P. Moran if you want to dig more in to this idea!

4. BYE FELICIA
Get rid of (or limit) the things that don't serve you. If someone is constantly bringing you down or not aligned with your goals then limit the time you spend with them. You don't need Negative Nancy always in your ear.

5. ACCOUNTABILITY IS KEY
Find a positive support crew/system! Write down those stretch goals and then tell someone close to you about those goals. The more accountability and support the better!
P.S. You always know I'm here to help too! :)
