WHAT TO DO WHEN YOU START SECOND-GUESSING THE DREAM
So you still have some doubts, huh?
Don't worry that is totally normal. You want to know and be able to trust you are on the correct path, right?
Here's the thing, you will have doubts both before you start and after you take the first steps on a goal.
Yes, it's extremely frustrating.
But trust me, it’s totally normal to have those doubts when you are starting something new, rise to a new level.
The key is to keep going.
Give yourself grace.
Find joy in the journey.
Use it all as a learning experience - learn and grow as you go.
Here are five quick tips and reminders if you feel those doubts creeping in.
1 - Comparisonitis - all because she does it that way doesn’t mean you have to do it that way.
2 - Trial and error
3 - The grass isn’t always greener
4 - Sometimes you need to slow down to go fast
5 - Ask for help from a mentor or coach
6 - *BONUS TIP* Check your ego...
Lesson/reminder for the week comes from the Netflix show Emily in Paris. Have you watched it yet?!
Here are the three unexpected lessons I picked up on while watching the show (and, of course, had to share with you too):
1. There is more to life than work.
2. Build a life you don't want to escape from (but also know there will be ups and downs along the way).
3. Step out of your comfort zone and take some risks -- you never know where that may lead you!
So I had this vision on my heart for a while.
I didn't think it was possible.
I doubted my capabilities. (Hellooo imposter syndrome and over thinking!)
Then 2017 hit.
It was a rough year for my family and I.
It also helped me realize that the idea and vision I was ignoring was no longer something I could to sit on.
I needed to create this. I couldn't ignore that "something is missing" feeling.
So I started and took one a small step.
And another. And another.
The past few years have taught me that time is way more previous than we realize.
I also learned I am way more capable and stronger than I realized.
And SO ARE YOU.
Part of this vision was bringing Designed Life Studio to life. Going on three years and this vision has official become a reality.
I shared some of my story in the this week's vlog.
Please know it is not to late for you to start on your goals too.
Give yourself permission to be a beginner again, find...
Have you found yourself saying "I'll be happy when..."?
Maybe waiting for the next big thing? I can say I've definitely said this before (on more than one occasion).
Take a listen to this week's vlog if you find yourself wishing and waiting for the next goal, achievement, person, or thing to come.
Don't let perfection hold you back from going after your goals.
My love, it's called a rough draft for a reason.
Give yourself permission to grow and learn as you go.

What is one thing, one messy step, I can take to move my goal forward?
What do I look forward to learning during this process?
Channeling Courage Over Confidence.
Often we thing we can start that "new thing" when we feel confident or ready enough to do so. But what if you decided to go for it now? To show up courageously, make it happen, and allow yourself to grow along the way?
Best case scenario, what if it's even greater than you imagined AND through the process you gain even more confidence?

This video shares the two initial questions you should ask yourself when feeling stuck at work (or life).
1. What do you currently love about work? What brings you the most energy and excites you?
2. What would you change if you could?
The questions may sound simple, but the reflection takes a little work. With your answers from these initial questions you can start designing and creating work that you love rather than staying at the "good-enough" job that doesn't fulfill you.
